Legal & Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 26, 2025

Introduction

Welcome to Gen Z Global ("we," "our," "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This policy details how we handle user data in the context of digital activism.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

Our most important principle is data minimization. We do not collect, store, or process any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) unless absolutely necessary for a specific, user-initiated action (e.g., a merchandise purchase).

  • We do **not** track your IP address for analytics.
  • We do **not** use third-party tracking cookies (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel).
  • We do **not** require personal information to browse the site or access resources.

2. Data We Collect & Why

When you voluntarily interact with specific features, we may collect limited data:

  • Chapter Registration: We collect a contact email and a chosen name/pseudonym for the chapter lead. This is used solely for communication within the network and is not displayed publicly.
  • Donations: Financial transactions are handled by Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. We do not see or store your credit card information. We only receive a record of the transaction amount and a non-identifiable transaction ID.
  • Website Analytics: We use a self-hosted, privacy-focused analytics tool (Plausible) that does not use cookies and collects no personal data. It provides us with high-level statistics like page views and visitor counts.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

We will only disclose information if required by law, and we will fight any overly broad requests for user data. We will attempt to notify users about legal demands for their data unless legally prohibited from doing so.

4. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our database and servers are configured with security best practices to prevent unauthorized access. We encourage all members to use the secure communication tools recommended in our Nakama Toolkit.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data you have voluntarily provided. To make such a request, please contact us at privacy@genzglobal.org.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify the community of any significant changes via our main communication channels.
